Wedding Band Faq

Your Questions Answered

How long do you play for?

The Favours play a high-energy set of 2.5 hours, with minimal gaps between the music, and a short break to facilitate evening refreshments being served. We play that time from whatever time we start, with a reasonable cut-off point, which we’ll arrange with you in advance.

Do you travel?

The Favours travel nationwide. And internationally.

Do you do events other than weddings?

We cater for all functions and events.

What instruments do you play?

The Favours have the optimal lineup of bass, guitar, keyboard/piano and live drums. All four are strong singers. This gives us the ability to reproduce practically almost any genre of music. All band members are top-class career musicians. There is only one band that performs as ‘The Favours’. We don’t offer choices of lead singer or random ‘choice’ of musicians.

Can we see you live somewhere?

Yes, please use the contact form or email to get a list of dates to come see us prove that we sound at LEAST as good as our media.

Are you insured?

This is becoming increasingly common with venues in Ireland and the UK. We’re pleased to say we are fully insured for public liability.

Can a guest join the band onstage?

If you wish then of course! With the couple’s permission, we will gladly allow guests to perform and provide backing music.

Will you be too loud?

We use high-quality in-ear monitoring systems to reduce onstage sound levels. You’ll be surprised at how good we can sound at low volume. It’s your night, so it’s your call.

Can you play our first dance?

We are always open to learning a new tune or two, if possible and given enough notice. Try us!

Who is the manager?

The Favours are self-managed to make sure every penny of your fee goes on what it should – providing some of the very best musicians and performers in the country. It also means our lead singer, Mick, will be liaising with you personally all the way from your very first contact with us, right up until you’re waving us goodbye on the night. That’s the personal touch you should expect for your big day.

How do I book or hold a date?

A small deposit holds the date for you. You can then strike one of the most important items off your list.

Can you help with DJ services?

Absolutely, and more besides. See our PACKAGES section..
